Tri Handoko or better known as Handoko was born in Blitar, East Java. Starting from dressing up his sister, he then found his interest in fashion design. After finishing high school in 1989, Handoko studied at Lembaga Pengajaran Tata Busana (LPTB) Susan Budiharjo. In the same year, he also participated at Lomba Disain Busana (LDB) held by Sarinah Magazine and won as Runner-Up for Casual Wear.

A year after finishing school at LPTB Susan Budiharjo, Handoko decided to study further at School of Visual Arts - Australia majoring in Fashion Design. In 1992, he went back to Indonesia and started his career. Since then until 1997, he worked as an intern to some famous Indonesian fashion designers such as Alex AB, Biyan and Space.

A few years later, Tri Handoko decided to start his own business and launched his first label "FRANTHO by Tri Handoko". Finally, Handoko launched his personal line named "TRI HANDOKO” in 2002.

To date, Tri Handoko is one of the rising fashion designers in Indonesia . To appreciate his work, Handoko was awarded the "The Upcoming Designer" in the Nokia Fashion Award 2004 and "The Most Favourite Designer" at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival 2004.
